Local Then Global is my offline/online startup business blog. I have been setting up local small businesses websites to ensure they rank in Google for what people are really searching for. I offer a complete service that also trains small business owners in the mysteries of social media and how to use it to benefit their businesses.

The plan is to eventually offer my methods as a franchise opportunity, or at the very least offer paid training for other around the world to emulate my methods.

Currently the blog is in hiatus while I reorganise my business plans and make enough time to move the focus away from the “how” to more of an advertising platform for the business itself.

Secret Women’s Business Network

In August 2008 I decided to create a women’s network to help them succeed in their businesses (whether offline or online).  With my years of small business ownership, as well as a decade of corporate management experience, I could see there was a difference in the way that women do business online that can interfere with reaching the goals they are setting.

Teaming up with Lisa Hartwell and Barb Sabathil as partners, we set out to create an environment where women can feel confident in working together, asking questions and sharing their experiences with each other.

The SWBN blog is now a well known and respected online business resource and the opening of the paid membership area will help expand the Secret Women’s Business Network to online women everywhere.

The Sphynx Cat Blog

For the last few years I have had a love affair with the Sphynx Cat breed.  A year ago with the arrival of our second kitten I launched a blog to follow his progress and to help educate the world about Sphynx cats.

The blog now ranks well for Sphynx cat and related search terms and is one of my highest trafficked blogs. After creating a newsletter and determining the kind of information people were seeking on the breed I wrote  “Sphynx Cats: What Every (Potential) Owner Should Know” as an ebook and sell online.

I will be getting another Sphynx kitten very soon and its story will also be appearing on the Sphynx Cat blog.

The Pod Life was born in the shower of all places. I wanted to be able to listen to a podcast while showering, but most are 30 minutes long and so fiddling around starting and stopping it made it all too hard. What if, I asked myself, there were podcasts which had an interesting story, but wrapped up quickly so you it would finish within the time it took to take a shower.

This project is semi-on-hold while I am working to get the other money making projects up (and I get a little more time).  The concept is there and ready to go…one day

Buying and Selling Websites For Profit

Very new site(s) that are being set up to promote buying and selling websites for profit. My out tasked staff have spare time in between helping out with local clients. It makes sense to put them to work creating websites to sell on the side. This blog will help me get known in this area and also attract like-minded people interested in online real estate.

This is a baby blog (and there are a couple of similar satellite blogs on the same subject to be setup as well) and should move up to the top of my activities when I leave the day job (or before ;) )
